 Re : 20 Channel UHF radios D1099

Dear Mr Glover
As I am a licensed amateur radio operator I was most appalled to learn that your company are marketing these 25 mw  433 MHz transeivers to the general public for unlicensed personal communications within the amateur radio band 420 to 450 MHz.

These UHF units even with low power are capable to considerable interference to repeater inputs and could have dire consequences during emergencies operation by WICEN and loss of lives could happen.

There are packet radio links, repeater links etc.on that part of the band and conflicts between unlicensed users and licenced amateurs is possible

Mr Glover I urge you cease marketing the D1099 to general public and only make them available to licensed radio amateurs that way you will still  have your sales.

I understood  Dick Smith organisation supported amateur radio but selling these 433 MHz units to the general public will only cause resentment to your company and I must inform you that there is a huge movement to get the ACA to reverse their item 17 ruling.

lastly every radio amateur radio have spoken to have indicated there disgust to the whole matter

sincerely,

Lionel, VK3NM.
