Re DSE 433 MHz transceivers

Dear Dick
My  name is Lionel and I am an amateur radio operator VK3NM  I am writing to you because you have done a lot for amateur radio when you were in charge of Dick Smith stores. I know you have nothing to do with that company now but DSE are selling 433MHz transceivers to the general public. As you could appreciated is not  the right thing to do I think you realise the problems that could cause with some of the channels are on some of the 70cm repeater inputs.

Dick you have built that business up from a small car radio shop to a respectable business before you sold out but your name is known to every ham in Australia and with the present owners selling these units will smear your name in the minds of a lot of people.

For your information there is a large movements to get these radio off the market to the general public.

I thought you may be interested in my comments as you have done a lot for the hobby and you are a very intelligent man and being a  radio ham yourself you would  understand  my  concern  regarding  invasion of our 70cm  band.

Thanking  you  very  much  and  good  luck with your ventures. I like you Aust Geographic etc.
