Australia - the worlds junkjard?

Europe is migrating SRD's to 868MHz. So therefore there is a limited market for the older and interference prone 433MHz equipment. So how do they get rid of all the old stuff they can't sell? ...

The following was received from the ERO in Europe:

"Dear Mr Ackerly,
We have similar problems in Europe! The problems are usually interference
from amateur or other powerful transmitters in adjacent bands into short
range devices (SRD) operating in the ISM band (433.050 - 434.790 MHz). A
common feature is the relatively poor selectivity of the SRD receivers
(usually SAW devices).  Hence the trend in Europe, for professional SRD
applications at least, is now to move to the 868 -870 MHz band - I'm not
sure this band is available in Region 3 (Australasia)."
