Trish O'Brien and Gareth Koch formed their partnership in 2006, thereby becoming Australia's only full time classical cello and guitar duo. Their repertoire is far reaching, unique and exploratory, encompassing music from the Renaissance through to Spanish romantic and contemporary classical music. The duo's unique arrangements define the sound and character of the ensemble. On stage Trish and Gareth delight audiences with their relaxed and humourous dialogue and ability to truly entertain.
They have toured to many major venues in Australia, including Sydney's Seymour Centre, Brisbane's Powerhouse, and Hobart's Federation Concert Hall, and have broadcast live across Australia for the ABC. They are featured by Musica Viva Australia as part of the Countrywide touring program.
Their first cd release 'SEDUCTION' was released in May 2007, and in the first month of public availability reached phenomenal sales figures and high praise from critics. "SEDUCTION" was chosen to be featured by radio stations 2MBS, 3MBS, 4MBS, ArtSound, and on ABC Classic FM as "CD OF THE WEEK" during June 2007.
In August 2007 Luminesca embark on a major tour of Australia covering venues in Queensland, Western Australia, Victoria, NSW, and Tasmania.
