Dear Tim,
I work at Channel 9 and I've been the lucky person imputting all your surf life saving caps into our graphics machine for use on the Nationals. I wanted to thank you for the email you sent having the changes listed and the new caps as well. It was an enormous help for us as we have to input the caps on an old fashioned tablet device with a mouse, so you can understand how long it takes to do 100's and how long it takes to try and check them all each year. Last year we didn't receive any paperwork until we got to the coast so all our graphics were from 1998 and out of date. So this year we are catching up 2 years worth. Thanks for your help - The caps will be 100% correct on TV this year thanks to you.

Kieran Chapman - Director, Wide World of Sports

Thanks so much Tim. In the end we went off the guide you'd sent so everything was fabulous. All went very well and we appreciated all you help. We will certainly talk to you next year!!! Kind regards.

Kieran Chapman - Director, Wide World of Sports

Tim, just visited your amazing cap site. Regards,

Richard Dill-Macky, Whale Beach SLSC

Tim, The details for your web site were in last Saturday's Daily Telegraph sports section in an column called Netplay. Once again, great job on the web site.

Richard Dill-Macky, Whale Beach SLSC

Dear Tim, Thank you for your informative and interesting web page about the cap colours in different Surf lifesaving clubs around Australia. In History at school, we've had to complete an assignment, choosing our own topic - but relating to the theme of Achievers and Achievements. I chose to research lifesavers and their achievements. There was very little historical information in libraries or in books, so the internet was my main source of information. I'd never really thought about the cap colours - I thought they all wore the yellow and red ones all the time. After viewing your web page - I went to Curl Curl beach in NSW and completed an oral interview (which was the main part of the assignment) One of my interview questions was about the caps and the different colours, I was able to find out more information there. So thanks for your web site and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Lorna Clarke, Ravenswood School For Girls, NSW

Great site ya got!!!

Gene Trivett, Cottesloe SLSC

Elliott, Half Moon Bay SLSC

Keep up the good work. I just came back from the national United States Lifesaving Association executive board meeting in Newport Beach, California, and you'll be happy to know that they use your web-site as a reference guide for team identification.

Jim McCrady, Fort Lauderdale Beach Patrol (Southeast Region, U.S.A)

This is a great resource for those interested in competitive surf lifesaving. Not only is the promised database of club colours extensive, but links to all available web sites are also provided. Could be setout in a less confusing manner, but still a great site.

An opinion on this site at Hotrate.com.

Hi. We're looking for history of the Killcare SLS Club NSW colours. Where would we find out when they were registered and if the colours have changed over time? Old photos have the maroon and gold with a white background and now a days it's with black. Your site is the closest we've come to so far. It is great being able to come home from a carnival and ID comp caps.

Helen, Killcare SLSC

Good work Tim.

Barry Duhne, Henley SLSC

Hi Tim and thanks for this marvellous site.

Uli from Germany

1 March 2004.
Dear Tim, The Surf Life Saving Foundation was recently the beneficiary of the Cupid's Ball, a black tie 'bachelor and spinster' gala. This event was held simultaneously in five different states: Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland Victoria and South Australia, and raised over $20,000 for surf life saving. One of the evening's activities involved an icebreaker game, whereby contestants were 'matched up' using cards illustrated with different club caps. The Foundation made these cards using graphics from the Club Cap Colour Guide. The Surf Life Saving Foundation would like to express its gratitude to you as creator of the Club Cap Colour Guide, as this surely contributed to the success of the evening.

Yours sincerely, Andrew Thomas, General Manager, Surf Life Saving Foundation
