ERC SA Acronyms & Glossary

Staff Specific positions:

Executive Officer, also referred to as EO – Oversees all areas of organisations operations, recruit, manage, and arrange training for all volunteers & staff, fundraising and marketing, Chairperson for Consultative Committee.

Youth & Development Coordinator – Intake & assessment for clients develop training services and develop new ‘fee based’ initiatives, finances (monthly statements, payments of cheques)

Camps & Activities Coordinator – planning camps & activities (programming & booking them)

Camp & Activity Specific positions:

Camp Officer – Position on camps, responsible for overseeing all areas of camps and volunteers, usually filled by staff and / or a board member (usually one position per camp)

Coordinator – Position on camps, responsible for the delivery of the camp program & activities (usually 2 positions per camp)

Pastoral Care Facilitator / PC’s - Attends Camps with a ‘Leader’ focus, debrief, and look after the well being of leaders attending camps

Child Protection Officer / CPO’s – Handles concerns, questions, and/or reports about suspected child abuse and/or neglect.

Group Leader – Responsible for leading a small group of leaders and participants (ensuring their safety, health & wellbeing for the duration of camps / activities)

Camp Leader / Leader - On camps & activities working 1:1 with participants, sometimes assist with or facilitate activities

Participants / Clients - Children, Young People & Families who receive services from ERC, including camps &/or activities

Bus Driver - Person responsible for driving bus/es to and from camps / activities

First Aid Officer / FAO - holds a first aid nationally recognised qualification, Responsible for administering first aid, observing & recording self-administered medication for participants.

Cook - Responsible for ensuring all meals on camps and/or activities are delivered, responsible for delegating to kitchen hands.

Kitchen Hand - responsible for assisting the cook/s to for meals on camps and/or activities

Activity Coordinator – responsible for presenting / facilitating one or more activities on camps &/or activities.

Volunteer Office & Other than Camps Specific positions:

Administration Assistant – Provides administrative support to staff and volunteers for ERCSA.

Training Facilitator – Assists to or solely facilitates training sessions or workshops for volunteers, staff and/or participants.

Recruitment & Promotions Assistant - Assists or solely visits schools, agencies and/or workplaces to present information about ERC SA, primarily for volunteer & /or client recruitment

Youth Worker / YW – Assists in the preparation for camps and activities, assists with or solely completes intake and assessment for new clients / volunteers

Interviewer – assists with or solely completes interviews for new clients / volunteers

Sewing Person – Volunteer that completes sewing items for ERCSA (items usually used for fundraising initiatives (such as ‘dammit’ dolls))

Delivery / Collection Driver

Committees & Project Teams:

VISION – Volunteer Insights: Sharing Ideas, Opinions & News – Formation group that facilitates various activities, work and/or discussions

Consultative Committee (CC) – Sub committee of the Board that provides information and advice pertaining to specific topics to the Board, also independently provides feedback and projects / proposals to the Board.

Training & Development – Explores, plans and executes training for staff, volunteers & /or participants of ERCSA.

Newsletter – with staff arrange for the newsletters (4 per year) are collated, printed and sent out to financial members of ERCSA.

Activity Project Team – Responsible for planning a Activity day (usually a single committee to plan a single activity day)

Camp Project Team – Responsible for planning a Camp (usually a single committee to plan a single Camp)

Social Committee - Responsible for planning social activities for staff, volunteers, & members of the ERN, and /or ERCSA

Fundraising Committee – Responsible for organising fundraising ventures for ERCSA.

Flinders Uni Club for Kids

Chairperson - Responsible for chairing meetings

Convenor - Responsible for chairing meeting, arranging meetings, setting agendas and delegating minute taking

Board of Management:

Board - Board of Management of ERC SA

Chairperson – Responsible for chairing meetings & meeting with EO

Deputy Chairperson – Responsible for assisting chairperson and backfilling position and/or position requirements as needed

Treasurer – Responsible for monthly reports on the financial situation of ERC SA to Board, assist staff with management of finances, setting of annual budget, etc.

Secretary – Responsible for minute taking & distribution, setting & distributing agenda

Member – Financial member of the organisation

Constitution - The constitution of ERCSA

Meeting – General Meeting of members of ERCSA, and/or referred to also as gatherings of board members

Public person – means a natural person who, because of their occupation, position in the community, or tenure of some public office, is accepted as having a degree of responsibility to the community as a whole.

Provincial – means the provincial, from time to time, of the Holy Spirit Province.

Act – means the Associations Incorporation Act, 1985, as amended
