About Me

My name is Steve, but many of my friends call me Scotty and on The Net or in the motorcycling forums I am known as Snakeman.

in a City called Hastings, which is on the east coast of the North Island and also known as 'The Fruit Bowl of New Zealand'. Among other things, I was a drummer in a Rock’n’Roll band for a couple of years following a stint in a school choir, before leaving school to pursue a career as a Baker & Pastry Cook.

I spent a lot of my spare time speeding around the countryside of New Zealand where the roads are a motorcyclists dream and the corners all lead into another corner (I never did like straight roads). One day I got to thinking that I needed a change in scenery and found a ship heading towards Sydney, so I boarded it.

I started off living and working in Sydney for quite a few months until one day figured that it was about time I left the city to explore a bit more of Australia.

I spent quite a while driving around the country, stopping to work here and there to keep my belly full and the car juiced up and covered some pretty big distances at times and met some interesting people along the way.

After quite a few months of travel I came upon a mining town where I did a stint working underground in the nickel mines of Western Australia.
I spent just over 2 years in the mining town of Kambalda, loving every minute of it, where I got to play with explosives and heavy earth moving equipment etc.

Headed back towards the eastern states after that and stopped in Adelaide for another lengthy stint before heading back to the land of the Kiwi to visit family and friends.

Spent the next few years back in the Bakeries and Hotel industries to earn money while spending most of it on motorbikes and riding on and off the track.

Wandering into work one morning and feeling the bite of the first day of winter, I decided it would be nice to visit a mate in Brisbane where it would be nice and warm. That was a few years ago and I’m still here so I guess that I must like it here.

I still live in Brisbane and love going out riding on my Motorbikes with some of the many friends that I have meet through motorcyling.

I also spend some of my spare time volunteer flag marshalling at some of the motorcyle racing that happens at the various road and dirt tracks around South-east Queensland.
