On a personal note I would like to acknowledge the work done by the people that I have encountered during my own research. The information collected has been from many people, families and friends
The first is Mrs. Jean "Joan" Gregory (nee Packman) of Brisbane, while I have never met the lady I encountered her previous research in the many places that I have been looking. This was in the way of visiting Family, friends and researching at the various state Libraries and Archives. While she is not an active researcher now, she has a wealth of information on the Skyring and Gregory families.
The second is Miss Joyce Harvey Skyring of Sydney. Her research at personal financial cost into the early Skyring history both in Australia including New South wales and Queensland and the British Isles is to be applauded. She continues to supply us "young" researchers with information and stories and has a "stockpile" of Information that she has collected over the years. It is only fitting you will find Joyce’s own acknowledgments at the end of this page.
Thirdly I wish to acknowledge Mrs Clarice Tuck (nee Skyring) who is I feel is the authority on the "Zachariah" line of the Skyring’s. She has had many articles published on the early Zachariah line of the Skyring’s. Special note:- Clarice passed away on the 4th August 2002 she will be sadly missed
I would also like to thank the most active current researchers for their contributions: -
Mrs. Thelma Denny (nee Skyring)
of Childers, Queensland who continually supplies information to many of us. She is probably our most active current researcher.Mrs. Joan Johnson (nee Baldwin)
of Bundaberg. Queensland for her newpaper extracts which along with her other work has lead to much of the Skyring family history.Mrs. Kristine Efeimoff (nee Poor)
of Brisbane for all her help transcriping various historical documents and her active researching various family lines.Tom Caldwell
of Coffs Harbour has collected a substantial listing of the descendants of Allan Caldwell and Janet Guthrie of St Quivox. Tom wishes to acknowledge the help given by many descendants of Matthew Caldwell and Johanna McKenzie. He is interested in any help that can be given to expand and confirm information on this family and he is also very interested in the Caldwell Family in general - its history, family stories and the name in general. He may be contacted by e-mail: at caerwall@ozemail.com.au.Lastly I would like to thank the most important people. The various families and friends that have welcomed me into lives and shared information and the wonderful stories of their forebears, themselves and relatives.
Many Thanks
Ross Harvey Skyring
