Introduction

This software is a web site you can set up and run yourself. It enables the voting on picture thumbnails (with optional links to the full sized image), and the displaying of results ranked by total score. This software is ideal for amateur photography clubs looking for a simple way to run web based photo competitions. It is free to try, and costs $20 shareware if you end up using it (please see documentation for more details on this).

Try it now online! Use the top competition to try a sample vote. Voting is free, you don't need to register. You can also look at the results of past competitions. Please note that this web site is used for real competitions. To see a live demonstration, please look here. Note that this site is hosted in Australia, from my home server, which is based on a Pentium II.


Software Features

  • Web based database administration. You use internet explorer to add/edit competitions, images and votes.
  • No spyware, ads or banners. It's very simple and clean, the focus is on the photos.
  • Multiple competitions can be run at the same time.
  • You can record a comment as well as a score when you vote. You can vote for more than one picture.
  • Voting is anonymous (quick and easy) but there are anti-cheating mechanisms.
  • It is open code, and can be extended and or modified (with conditions) by a web developer.
  • It has low system requirements and can run even on a home windows PC with a permanent internet connection.
  • It is a collection of ASP and HTML code, and an Access Database which stores the results.
  • Automatic open and close off of voting (based on dates)
  • Thumbnail images have hyperlinks to the full sized image
