Jamie Harvey 2

Last game of the first section was against Rowee. Jamie opened with a 140 I replied with 125 Jamie another 140.The rest of my scores didn't bother the scorer too much with Jamie winning by a large margin. Bringing my loses to 2 in 2 days.

Rowee

Peter Reynolds                Ralph Brown

First up after the break was Peter Reynolds. The scoring moved up a gear. Pete hit a 180 and attempted a 135 peg 25 60 but missed the bull scoring 25 with his last dart. Jamie was left on 132. He asked Pete if he could attempt the peg throwing flight first. Pete nodded approval. The first 2 darts were spot on target but he wired the 32. Pete didn't waste his chance pegging out on 25.

Against Ralph Brown he went 96 121 100 100 180 attempted a 104 peg but just missed the bull. With his next 2 darts he pegged 25 darts thrown flight first.

Billy Richardson                    Steve Duke Jnr

Billy had his family in the audience. Jamie seemed to be distracted with Billy's babies cries because much to the amusement of the crowd Billy won easily.

With the bravado of youth. Steve Duke Jnr challenged Jamie "Anything you throw I'll match it"  Jamie started with 100 Steve matched it, Jamie 100 Steve edged ahead with a 140. Jamie hit a 140 but Steve could only managed 45. Jamie asked if he could throw flight first. Steve acknowledged yes. Only hitting 60. Steve decided to take the game to Jamie asking if he too could throw flight first. Jamie smiled wryly "of course". The crowd erupted when Steve threw a ton. Jamie threw 57, Steve 78. Jamie 60 Steve 100. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, the student was teaching the master. Both then proceeded to throw poor scores Both missed shots at doubles. Both tried hitting doubles sitting on a chair. Jamie on his knees. finally Jamie pegged double 1. A great entertaining by both guys.

the chore of autograph signing

A special thanks must go to Kevin Berlyn. Kevin is a complete dart fanatic - living breathing sleeping darts, rumour has it that when he snores it sounds like one hundreeeeed and eeeeeightyyyyyy. He is one of those rare persons that has a vision and works to see that vision realised. It was through his persistence that Jamie's exhibitions came to fruition. Talking to Jamie he was so impressed that he is working to return in December with "a friend" but I'll leave that up to Kevin to announce officially on his website.

Were the exhibitions a success?  After both I didn't see a face without a smile. And at the dart hall on Monday night there seems to be a craze of throwing darts flight first. So that  is positive. The exhibition certainly has got more than a few tongues wagging. Its created a new hero amongst the young, and that has to be good for the future of darts. I'll certainly be first in line for the next "Jamie Harvey Exhibition"
