5. Grade Classification. The first
score fired in a sanctioned match by a shooter in a particular type and
category of competition shall establish a classification for that match
only. The shooter’s official recorded classification
shall be one class lower, effective at the next match in which he
competes. The score shall qualify as one
“leg” into the class in which it was fired.
During the following twelve month period, the next score fired which
exceeds the “break point” of his official class in that category, will move the
shooter to the next highest class, effective at the next match in which he
competes.
If a shooter fires a single score that exceeds the break
point for a class that is two or more classes above the shooters current class,
he shall be advanced to the class immediately below the class of the score
fired, effective in that match. Such
score will also be the first “leg” into the class in which it was fired.
6. Reclassification to a lower
class will be based on four consecutive recorded scores below the breakpoint of
a shooters current class and shot within a twelve month period.
7. PA Competitions may include a
class for Juniors.
PA members are defined as Juniors up until the
31st December of the year prior to the year they attain the age of
21 years.
8. Matches for .177 Air pistol will
be shot on 1/10th scale of “full size” targets. Targets are to be made from 3mm or equivalent
steel plate. Distances for Air Pistol
are Chickens 10m/yds; Pigs 15m/yds;
9. Matches for Small Bore 50m/yd
will be shot on 1/5th scale of “full size” targets. Targets are to be made from 6mm or equivalent
steel plate. Target distances are
Chickens 20m/yds; Pigs 30m/yds;
10. Shoot-offs. At all Open matches (including State and
National), first place in all categories must be decided by shoot-off in the
event of tied scores. A “sudden death”
shoot-off format may be used if scores are equal after the first five
shots. All other ties may be broken by
count back unless the scores cannot be counted back in which case a shoot-off
will decide.
