The Conference venue will be in northern Botswana at the 'Chobe Safari Lodge' and the 'MOWANA Safari Lodge' in Kasane. Kasane is located at the north east gate of Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana. In reference to Kasane, the 'Lonely Planet guide' states that "The modern visitor arriving from the neatly manicured lawns of the Victoria Falls Hotel will either be appalled or enchanted by the sense of African spontaneity!". During a recent visits the Executive Committee were delighted by the atmosphere of Kasane, the friendly people and the professional attitude of the lodge and safari operators.
Chobe National Park holds the highest density of wildlife in Africa and several rare and endangered species. The lodges at Kasane are situated on the banks of the Chobe River, home to hippo and crocodile, and game viewing is by boat cruises as well as by 4WD drives. Kasane and Chobe are well situated for connecting visits to Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls, to Namibia e.g. Etosha National Park, and day trips to Zambia - as well as most especially other locations in Botswana such as the Okavango Delta, Linyanti Marsh, Savuti Channel, The Moremi and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Some day-trip options, including a day in Victoria Falls, will be made available through the Registration for the meeting (see 'activities' section below).
