Kasane Marina Lodge

The Kasane Marina Lodge is located on the lush banks of the Chobe River close to the gate to the world famous Chobe National Park and approximately 200 m from the Chobe Safari Lodge.

The name Kasane is derived from the local name for the waterberry tree which grows in profusion all along the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. The gardens are lush and expansive. Some of Africa's finest birds may be spotted here as well as the ever present vervet monkeys, squirrels, warthog, mongoose, genets, fruit bats and other small fry.

The Kasane Marina Lodge is a new lodge to be completed in May 2001 and has been contracted to Chobe 2001 in response to the exceptional interest in the conference. Guests at the Kasane Marina Lodge will have access to the same range of services as those staying at the Chobe Safari Lodge or the Mowana Safari Lodge.

Transfers from and to Kasane airport will be provided. Guests transfering by road from Vic Falls (see 'Getting to Kasane' on main page) will be transfered on Saturday 18 August to the conference registration desk at the Chobe Safari Lodge.

Various accommodation is available with breakfast at a fixed price regardless of room type:

• Double Units - 2 people
• Double Units with lounge (with double divan for families)
• Two bedroomed family units
• Three bedroomed units (for extended families or groups)
• Children's rates - conditions apply

The cost and anticipated services structure at the Kasane Marina Lodge is between that of the Chobe Safari Lodge and that of the Mowana. The Kasane Marina Lodge with new chalet and house type units will be of a different standard to the existing accommodation at the Chobe Safari Lodge (and thus somewhat more expensive) but will not approach the luxury offered by the Mowana Safari Lodge.

The Executive Committee continues to recommend the Mowana as a value for money luxury experience and the Chobe Safari Lodge as a high quality but economical Safari Lodge.

The level of luxury and home comforts is most pleasing and includes the following: air conditioning ceiling fans satellite TV telephones personal safe for valuables mosquito proofing on all doors, windows and beds hairdryers all beds are extra length choice of bath or shower
	The Kasane Marina Lodge is situated directly on the banks of the Chobe River with a view over into Namibia. Due for completion in May 2001 the lodge offers a variety of thatched chalet and bungalow accommodation set in lawns and trees around the central lodge and restaurant facilities

It may be necessary for people to share a multi-bedroomed unit while having a private twin-share room within that unit (or pay a supplement - cost on application)

Guests are covered by Medical Rescue International (MRI) as well as 24 hour access to Kasane Clinic.

NOTE: All delegates staying as guests of the Kasane Marina Lodge will be pre-booked on drives and cruises from the Chobe Safari Lodge.
