GETTING TO KASANE (CHOBE) AND GETTING AWAY

Travel to Kasane and Chobe National Park is simple but can be time consuming because of the remote location and a variety of options exist. The organisers have arranged for some simple solutions. Some of these are explained on the travel page.

Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival and that you have all required Visas.
IF you must submit your passport to apply for a visa (see below) it should be valid for 12 months
DO NOT apply for a visa more than 3 months in advance of the date you will leave Botswana since the visa period will commence from the date of issue.

NOTE: If you are;
a) travelling onto the IUPS meeting you are advised to take the Charter Flight.
b) intending to take a pre or post-meeting Safari/Tour in northern Zimbabwe or Botswana you should use the One~Way Charter Flight into or out of Kasane for the meeting and scheduled flights into or out of either Maun (Okavango Delta -Botswana) or Vic Falls (Zimbabwe) for the opposite leg of the journey.
c) taking a pre or post-meeting Safari/Tour in S. Africa you are advised to return to Johannesburg and to use the Charter Flight option

Arrive Vic Falls well before 2 pm on August, 18 (for transfer to Kasane)
Arrive Kasane (Chobe) before 5.00 pm August 18
Depart Kasane (Chobe) after 10. 30 am August 24
