Chain Double Reel

Double Sicilian. 2 couples facing 2 couples all the way around the room.
A1 Centres Right Hands Around

Left Hand Turn

With right hands in to the centre of the groups of 4. Lady 1 takes man 2's hand and Man 1 and lady 2's hands on top. All walk in a clockwise direction.
Left hand turn 1 1/2 turns so that outside 4 finish as the new centre 4.
A2 New Centres Right Hands Around
Left Hand Turn
New centre 4 right hands around.
Left hand turn 1 1/2 turns to back to place.
B1 Set to Partner
Spin Partner
Set to Partner twice.
Spin partner.
A1 Ladies Chain   Ladies chain across the set and are turned by the men to face along the line. Ladies then chain along the line. 16 bars
A2 - Continue ladies chain until back to place.
B1 Advance and Retire
Advance and Pass Through
In original lines of 4 advance and retire.

Cheshire Rounds

Longways sets with as many as will. Start with men in one line and ladies in the other, then all odd numbered couples swap sides.

A1 Right Hands Across

Left Hands Back

With right hands in to the centre of the groups of 4. Lady 1 takes man 2's hand and Man 1 and lady 2's hands on top. All walk in a clockwise direction.
Turn and put the left hands in the same manner and walk anti-clockwise.
A2 Cast off

Turn Partner

Couple 1 cast off, followed by couple 2 down their own section and return up the centre of the set.
Turn partners with both hands.
B1 1st Couple Galop Down

Galop Back

1st couples hold both hands and galop down the sets. They can go into the next sets. 4 bars
Galop back to place.
B2 Set to Corners
Swing Corners 
Set to corners.
Swing with corner, finish in each other's places.

Circassian Circle

Progressive Sicilian, couples facing each other around the-line-of-dance. Men on left, ladies on right.
A1 Right and Left Through

 

Right and Left Back

The couples change places with 8 steps. Pass the opposite couple by the right shoulder, ladies advance and move in front and to the left of their partners. The men allow the the ladies to get ahead and move to the right. When on the opposite side of the set, all turn around clockwise to face inwards.
Repeat back to original places.
A2 Set to Partner

Swing  Partner

Slight jump onto right foot, bring left foot up to right and transfer weight to left toes then fall back on to right foot. Repeat to the left.
Short swing
with partner.
B1 Ladies Chain

Chain Back

Ladies change places taking right hands as they pass, then taking the opposite man's left hand, he puts his right hand on her waist and turns her around him anti-clockwise. 
Ladies chain back.
B2 Promenade Right and Left  Couples in a promenade hold pass the other couple to the right and then back to their left to face a new couple.
- 32 bar Jigs or Reels AABB .If doing both parts use jigs for part 1 and reels for part 2. This is the first part of the Circassian Circle, when everyone has done a circuit they can form one  big circle and then do the Big Circle Dance.

Cumberland Long Eight

Longways sets of 4 couples. 1 and 2 are top, 3 and 4 bottom.
A1 Single Cast Top couple cast outwards followed by the rest of the lines. Couples join at the bottom in the skater's hold and return up the set.
A2 Double Cast Left At the top of the set, still in skater's hold all couples cast to the left, down the set and back to place.
B1 Star Top couples 1 and 2 star right, bottom couples 2 and 3 star right.
B2 Top Couple Swing  Couples 1 swing down to the bottom of the set. Others clap and move up one place.
- 32 bar Reels AABB Simple,  enjoyable and a little different  than other dances.

Cumberland Reel

Longways sets of 6 or 7 couples.
A1 Star Right
Star Left
Top 2 couples star right and the star left.
A2 Top Couple Down the Set
Return
Top couple slip step down the set and back.
B1 Cast Off Top couple cast off, followed by the line.
B2 Arch and Return Top couple form an arch at the bottom, other couples pass through and join hands in the skater's hold. First couple through is now the new top couple. 
C1 Cast Left New top couple cast left, other couples follow.
C2 Return Return to place with new top couple.
- 48 bar Reels AABBCC or AABB and 16 bar March or Jig Can be done to  Reels or Jigs, just make sure they fit the dance.

Quadrille Formation 4 couples on side of a square, those facing  the band and those facing them are Ends. The other 2 couples are Sides.

Quadrille Formation, 4 couples on side of a square.
A1 All Circle Left
Circle Back
All 8 join hands and circle left with slip steps.
Circle back to place.
A2 1's Visit Right
next time through, its the 2's then 3's and then 4's
Couple 1 visit to the right (anti-clockwise) honouring each couple in turn.
B1 1's and 2's Cross Over

3's and 4' Cross Over

Couples 1 and 2 change place, 1's arch, 2's pass under, both men turn the lady under to face inwards.
Couples 3 and 4 change place, 3's arch, 4' pass under, both men turn the lady under to face inwards.
A1 Half Grand Chain Partners face and give each other right hands, passing by the right shoulders they move on offering alternate left and right hands to the oncoming dancers until they meet their partners again. Men turn their partners under their right arms, then men put their right arms on the ladies waist. 
A2 Couples Star  Ladies put their right hands into the centre and couples star, men following their partners.
B1 Promenade to Place Ladies turn out to the right of their partners and couples promenade around the set back to place.
- 48 bar reels AABAAB A dance reconstructed and modified, from one done in the Dargo district in the 1930's.

Cottages

Progressive Sicilian, couples facing each other around the-line-of-dance. Men on left, ladies on right.

A1 Right Hand Star
Left Hand Star
All four dancers place right hands into centre at shoulder level and skip forward , then turn to place left hands into centre and return. The hold can be hands placed on each other or each person holds the wrist of the person in front of them.
A2 Set Twice

Spin Partner

Set to partner twice. Slight jump onto right foot, bring left foot up to right and transfer weight to left toes then fall back on to right foot. Repeat to the left.
Short spin with partner.
B1 Basket All 4 form a basket, men's arms joined around outside of ladies waists, ladies rest arms on men's shoulders, all lean out slightly and step sideways to rotate to the left only. Finish early enough to fall into original lines.
B2 Advance and Retire

Pass Through

Couples join hands and advanced and retire.
They let go hands, advance moving slightly to left to pass through other line  by right shoulders to face a new line.
