Every now and then I get an email asking for help setting up Telstra ADSL and SmoothWall, and since I have never actually used Telstra ADSL I am not much help except to say it works. The fact is that beyond choosing ADSL+PPPoE during install, then configuring a dialup profile, there is very little to do, but, as they say, a picture tells a thousand words:

Note that you don't have to fill in the DNS settings, they will automatically be picked up.
