Adobe Photoshop - Digital Imaging Level 1
Ideal for those who are familiar with the features of their camera and wish to learn imaging and editing skills. Expand your digital photography skills into the realm of the digital darkroom. You will learn how to use Photoshop CS2 to edit and enhance digital photos; including
crop and resize, red-eye corrections,
make adjustments, selections,
create B&W, sepia and artistic effects.
Basic computer skills essential. Bring your digital photos on a
CD-R (not CD-RW) to
class. Course notes provided.

Pixel Processing: examples of sprinkling some pixel dust:

1. A typical photo
taken at restaurant - by waiter. Taken a bit too far; room lights
have created yellow color cast; and a bit blurred.
2. Cropped the image tighter.
3. Removed the yellow color cast.
4. Removed the blotches on the wall, and sharpened to produce the
final
image.
Example of advanced selection/extraction techniques to handle difficult outlines such as hair, and the addition of a background and border to produce the final image of the 'triplets'.

adjustment layers, selection techniques,
creating montages using blending modes, advanced corrections, masking,
restoration and repair of old photos, black and white conversion and color management.

Photoshop Lightroom
for Digital Photography
Learn to use Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom from shoot to
finish. Explore a complete workflow - importing and managing
digital images; creating keywords, collections and virtual copies;
editing and enhancing for white balence, exposure, color and tones;
creating black and white, sepia and duotone images; sharpening;
integrated editing with Photoshop; printing, exporting and
presenting the finished digital photos. Basic computer skills

Exposure - Digital Photography
Workshop
This workshop is focused on understanding lighting and the factors that control exposure - aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The practical sessions will cover the use of camera settings together with the histogram display to achieve good exposure.
Camera RAW Processing - using Adobe
Photoshop
This hands-on workshop focuses on understanding Digital Camera RAW formats and the use of Photoshop CS2's Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) processor to edit and enhance RAW images. We will look at a typical processing workflow using ACR.
