On 25th July, 1848 the above Elizabeth Rees and living at Stop and Call, Letterston, married Daniel Roach who was
living at Welsh Hook. His father's name was Samuel Roach, Weaver and her father's name was William Rees, farmer.
William Rees must have taken over Stop and Call from his brother in law John Morris. The witnesses at this wedding were
Thomas Williams (presumed to be the husband of Mary Rees) and William Rees, father of the bride.
Re Daniel's residence of Welsh Hook, that is the area where Landship Farm where he was working at the time. It could
also be his home area as this marriage in the Dyfed FHS list of early marriages shows that Samuel Roach married Ann
Bevan in St. Dogwells in 1788.

Re Stop and Call - "Out in the countryside, whereever there was hard work to be done, ale-houses, legal and otherwise,
sprang up to provide refreshment for the labouring man. Many of the smaller country ale-houses had names designed to
encourage the passer-by to enter, some of which live on. e.g. "Step Inn", "Venture Inn", "Step Aside" and Stop and Call"
