The Moore Family of Skipton
Blanche Eveline Gledhill nee Moore
Blanche married John Gledhill in 1893.
Blanche and John separated after having 12 Children.
John died in Redcar in 1939 and Blanche died at the
home of her daughter Nora in Portsmouth in 1950.
Not much is known of the Moore branch of the family
apart from the fact that Isaac Moore was born
in Keighley, Yorkshire and he married Sarah Elizabeth
Hodgson of Skipton and they lived there for the first
couple of years of their marriage with his wife's family.
Sarah Elizabeth's parents were William Hodgson,
Woolcomber and Elizabeth Hodgson, nee Smith.
William died pre 1870 and later Elizabeth married
a Bottomley and kept a pub called the Craven Vaults
in Christchurch, Skipton.
We would be pleased to hear from anyone who is researching this family
and can help us with more information.
