On 11th April, 1858 Mary Hannah Chatburn married George Smith, occupation Farmer in the Parish Church of Keighley. She was the daughter of Edward and Jane Chatburn nee Butterfield and she was born on 2nd September, 1838 in Physic Row, Keighley. Source: Birth Certificate. Jane Chatburn died on 25th July, 1846 aged 28 in Wellington Square, Keighley. Edward Chatburn remarried to a Susan Hutchinson. She is likely a widow as on the 1851 Census there are children with surnames of Chatburn and Hutchinson. Ellen Ann is a child of the second marriage later marrying William Whiteoak and taking as boarders her stepsister Mary Hannah Smith's children Peter, Albert and Elizabeth Jane.
