Business Computing Tips

Saving pictures that you see on the web
is easy. First bring up that picture in your browser. Then right-click on the picture.
A menu comes up (normally a grey box) that includes the option Save Image As or Save Picture As.
You can type in a name in the box next to File Name: and then save it onto
your hard drive by hitting the button labelled Save.
Most windows users will find pictures automatically save into a folder in My
documents called, My Pictures. You can save the pic anywhere though by hitting
the little down arrow at the side of the box labelled Save in: (normally at
the top). Click on the folders until you find the one you want. Then hit Save.
The computer knows what sort of picture it is by the letters after the dot in
its name. For example, goat.jpg is a picture made specifically to be easy to
download. There are also gif's (good for black & white or small pics) .bmp's
(much bigger but more detail and many others. Take care not to change or loose
these last few letters because that will mean the computer will no longer be
able to see that picture.
Pictures are copyrighted. You can adapted pics but it is best to always ask
permission before using any picture that is not specifically listed as
available for public use.
