Pa had to pay ƒ. 4000 to his father for the shop, and he paid this amount off in two years out of the profits of the business. The store sold crockery, kitchenware, stoves, heaters, electrical goods, nickel ware etc.
Pa and Moe worked hard all their lives and the business went well. The floor space became enlarged when a cinema next door became available and Pa added this on to his property; also the flats above the store were bought.
