Corrine Brown

Director of Institute of Holistic Therapies, Corrine embraces all aspects of health, beauty and alternative/complementary therapies. With twenty years experience both locally and internationally in the health and beauty profession, primarily in the education and practical fields of beauty therapy, makeup artistry, complementary and holistic therapies and management of salons and spas, and over eight years experience in the international arena of advertising, marketing, direct response and public relations. Corrine travels widely facilitating workshops and seminars both in Australia and overseas.

As Head Tutor in a Perth Beauty College in Western Australia, she delivered the full-time Beauty Therapy Diploma course training students to the required national and international standards as well as facilitating various seminar workshops.

Her varied skills were utilised to the full as Senior Therapist/Makeup Artist and Manager of a leading Western Australian Spa and Beauty Clinic. She was also the company's Product Trainer and Consultant for Australia and South East Asia.

In her fourteenth year as CIDESCO International Examiner (a Zurich-based international Health and Beauty organisation), Corrine travels globally examining students wishing to attain this prestigious, internationally recognised diploma.

Relocated to Melbourne, Corrine delivered the Diploma in Beauty Therapy curriculum and trained teaching staff in Holistic & Alternative/Complementary Therapies. She currently lectures students at William Angliss Institute undertaking the Diploma of Tourism & Hospitality, Resort Spa Management Programme.

Corrine has facilitated workshops and training to individuals, IFA members in Western Australia, students from various colleges/universities, staff and therapists in day and resort spas in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Maldives, Dubai and Johannesburg. She has also been a guest speaker on Spa/Complementary Therapies at a Beauty Exhibition in China and at Victoria University.

Corrine has trained various aspects of holistic therapies to staff and therapists at Keturah and Ella Bache Day Spas in Perth, Western Australia, Ella Bache, Hilton and Sync Day Spas in Melbourne, Victoria, the Six Senses Spa Group in Evason Phuket and Hua Hin Resort Spas in Thailand, Soneva Fushi and Soneva Gili Resort Spas in the Maldives and in Dubai.

She is privileged to be Australia's first product trainer for Red Flower NY, delivering their Red Flower Hammam and Japan rituals to spa therapists at the Balinese & Japanese Mountain Retreats in Victoria. Her vast complementary and holistic experience also gained her a project as Colour Consultant to U Skincare, Victoria for their Lipsticks Affirmation Range.

Reiki Master/Teacher, Magnified Healing and R.E.S.E.T. Instructor trained in Kinergetics, Corrine practices all the therapies she facilitates. An active member of the Melbourne Theosophical Society, she participates in their group and global healing as well as in the meditation sessions.

Corrine has done voluntary work at Princess Margaret Hospital, W.A., in the Teenage Ward, working with teenagers from ages twelve to seventeen with various health problems and issues. She is currently providing palliative care and community service with the Volunteer Team at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne, Victoria, the Southern Hemisphere's largest, independent specialist oncology centre.

An Australian Chinese with her Singapore heritage, she is blessed with two beautiful children from their British father. Rich in the various cultures and traditions, Corrine has the best of both worlds combining Eastern and Western influences and values into her life philosophies. Corrine is continually studying the holistic approach to somatic psychology and metaphysics to further strengthen her personal growth in spiritual learning, healing and teaching.
