McDermott Family
The name McDermott
is Irish in origin, but it has also been found extensively in Scotland
- for more information check out McDermott
under Name Meanings. Current research identifies our line of the
McDermotts as originating in Dundee Angus in the early 1800s.
The earliest
known member of our McDermott line is Patrick McDermott.
Patrick emigrated to Australia with his wife Bridget Kettle in abt
1851, however little is known of the family before the his son,
Patrick McDermott.
