My Jessop
Family
Historically
it has been identified that the Jessop family originated in Yorkshire
before spreading from right across England - for more information
check out Jessop
under Name Meanings. Current research identifies our line of the
Jessop family as originating in Suffolk
abt 1750. The Jessops were located in Suffolk from about 1500, and
further research is underway to link the lines.
The earliest
known member of our Hardie line is Charles Jessup. However
little is known of the Jessup family before the migration to Australia
of his son, John Jessup.
