Family
The Darrough
family is an ancient name. Historically it has beenclosely associated
with the North of Ireland, but the family under a multitude of names
is now found more broadly across Ireland - for more information
check out Darrough
under Name Meanings.
Current research
identifies the earliest known ancestor of our Darrough line as being
Richard Darrough of Antrim in Northern Ireland. However little
is known of the family until the emigration of his son John Darrough
to Australia some time about 1868.
