Ellie readies to loose an arrow at the advancing horde,
whilst Hugh watches to see if the arrow makes it to the target.. Looking
carefully, we may see Darren struggling with his fading eyesight, to
locate the horde at all (Hint: he's in pale linen).
The Fire and Steel flag steams prettily in the morning sun... or we
have once again set fire to it.
Could this been the every-so-popular Fir and Stee campsite? Arr, that
it be.
In this shot, Ellie waits patiently to for the boys to get
ready (isn't it always the way?), Heath puts on larger earrings, Matt does
an impression of a chicken, whilst Duncan's attention is captured by a
puppy, frolicking in the sun.

Here the members of Fire and Steel engage in an important,
though not period, ritual of the Post Tent Shotgun.

Who could this blue Lycra and aluminium helmet clad
individual be? None other than a (representation) of the King of the SCA.
He was promptly executed for crimes against historical recreation in
Australia.

How could there be a re-enactment event without a
gratuitous shot of Darren's bum.

These photographs where taken at the 2001 Conference- A
Medieval Odyssey. Fire and Steel had a decent contingent turn up to this
tick laden event. Some of us were were loud, some were naughty, and
pretty much all of us were very silly. Indeed it was a champion effort,
as I don't believe anything happened at the Conference that was fun,
silly or downright weird, without at least one Fire and Steel member
participating or instigating the happenings.
Good work lads and lasses.
Here we are able to note the amazing glory that is
Darren's archery. Note the path the arrow should have taken was some two
meters lower and to the right.

Steve does his best impression of the drinking Viking,
whilst in the background Heath does his best to ponce up the campsite.

The new Fire and Steel flag replaces the old Black
Chicken of Death, finally.

Here we test the feasibility of hoisting someone onto
a shield to carry by using the most expendable member of the club.
