Edith Gracie Rose Winslow was born at the Nepean Private Hospital at the start of May 2003.
Her due date was 4th May, and I started having contractions on 3rd May. You can read the birth story here.
Edie is now 22 weeks old. She is still as adorable as ever, and I still think so, even when I'm sitting at the dining table in my pyjamas at mid-day covered in baby vomit and wondering how I went from someone who could tackle an entire to-do list of chores, reading and relaxation in an afternoon, to someone who needs a week to get through a newspaper.
Edith is very attached to our dog, Ruby. Quite literally they are a part of each other. When Edie was about 2 weeks old her belly button stump fell off. I put it on the window seat in our loungeroom to show Bim when he got home from work. Later I heard a sort of slurpy, crunchy sound and looked over to see Ruby sitting there with a big doggy smile on her face, and Edie's belly button no-where to be seen. So the dog ate her belly button! The dog's hearty appetite for human by-products came in handy the other day too, when Edie didn't drink her bottle of expressed breast milk. Ruby loved it. I'll have to be careful when she comes sniffing near my chest though.
