The obvious thing is that I'm a Star Trek fan and, although I don't describe myself that way, I could be called a Trekker. I'm proud to be a fan though. I got into it in early '95 watching the 7th season of The Next Generation and the 2nd season of Deep Space Nine on local TV (Perth, Western Australia). Since then I've seen every episode of The Original Series, all of TNG, all of DS9, every episode of Voyager, every aired episode of Enterprise, and all the movies.
Deep Space Nine is by far my favourite series and The Next Generation is my second favourite. First Contact is my favourite of the movies. The Galaxy, Defiant, and Sovereign-class are my favourite of Starfleet ship designs and the Romulan Warbirds (both D'deridex and Valdore) are my favourite alien ships. Odo is my favourite character.
I went to school up to and including Year 12 and then did tertiary studies in Information Technology where I developed my PC skills. Other than computers and Star Trek, I enjoy playing tennis and squash, listening to music (ranging from alternative to mellow to dance), and spending time with friends. Oh, I also dabble in Trek model kits. Although my modeling skills are limited, I like the idea of building a ship the way I like it. When I was younger my biggest hobbies were video games and comics. I've recently got back into video games but have given up comics completely. Other than Star Trek I have developed quite a keen interest in both the Buffy and Angel TV series.
I decided to teach myself HTML after being inspired by some excellent sites that are already out there. I wanted to express my views for others to (hopefully) enjoy and this site is the result.
I'm currently working full time as a sales person at one of the Harvey Norman retail chains. I'm in the computer dept which involves sales of PC hardware and software, video games, mobile phones etc.
This site is continually being updated. All the HTML was written in Notepad and picture editing was done with Paint Shop Pro 5. If you have any comments, questions, or just want to say hello, feel free to e-mail me, Michael Dax.
