Howard and wife Brenda started Crossroad Squares on 8th July 1982.

The club has run continuously ever since, catering for beginners to mainstream & plus dancers, and has hosted dancers and callers from all states of Australia and overseas. Howard and Brenda hope to meet you on a dance floor soon.

Howard also runs Southern Cross Plus (est. 1990) for plus dancers, and Southern Cross A (est. 1998) for dancers wanting to dance at the Advanced level.

A caller since 1980, Howard has travelled extensively across Australia and New Zealand as a guest caller. He is the author of two square dance books: "The Travelling Callers Complete Guide" and the "Callers Guide To Teaching The Plus Program". He has also recorded square dance cassettes, including a live tribute to Elvis Presley. He has also cut his first CD called "A Little Bit More - Plus". In 2006 Howard was awarded the National Square Dance Society "Roll of Honour" for his work in square dancing. In 2008 Howard was presented with a 25 year award from the Victorian Callers Association.
