The engine is driven by
an electric motor under the bench in all but the last two clips.
In the second last clip the engine is
running on air supplied by a 12cfm compressor. It does not run well as the
cutoff necessary for efficient steam consumption is about 65% of the stroke.
When running on steam the continued expansion of the steam continues to
drive the piston down but on air that is that.
The first 4 videos are poor quality due to the size of the file necessary for high quality images
and there is no sound as the
captured sound from the tape video player is very faint.
The last 4 video clips were taken on a
digital camera, are in QuickTime format and have sound!
They will take a while to download
on a dial-up connection
The clips are short but you can
make them last longer saving them and "looping" them in your media player
You will need RealOne Player to play
the first 3 clips or maybe Quicktime for the last
