When a sorrow is too hard to bear And too close even to share With those near by, Ever thought there's someone closer still Who'ld understand and hear our cry. For what must have been her thoughts, In that her darkest hour, As she stood and watched Her son being put to death, Right in front of her. The sorrow, the agony, The helplessness of it all Weighing so heavily upon her. Leaving her with a heart so broken, And words unable to be spoken, As she held his broken body to her. This then is our lady who would be with us, To comfort and to guide us, To dry away our tears, And give us consolation, For has she not too been there? by LizzyTish© |
