CDMA (Code division Multile Access) in spread spectrum is thought
to me even more efficient, better overall voice quality (less echo
cancel problem, multiplexer frame slip etc), but it's implementation
is/was a little tougher to implement up front, and I can always
tell a TDMA call vs. a CDMA call expecially on call-in talk shows.
Nice thing about Spread Spectrum is that it can co-exist with Analog
signals.
Sorry about board realistate, and lack of room, but the boys
keep telling me that its too hard, and takes too much time in
Mentor Graphics to do that, it easier for them to just say no.
Anyways, thats besides the point, don't need to go off on another
tangent.

...So I'm assuming from your mindset here that it's also the "guns"
that kill, and not the people, so therefore we should outlaw them ?
And what of shavers, lipstick, and makeup in the car ? Outlawed too ?
(needless to say frisky girlfriend passengers as well...)
Maybe we just need a "generic" law to cover *all* of the above.
Gee, seems to me we already have that - careless/wreckless driving ?
But wait! if we make *seperate* laws for *each* of the above, we
can generate more legal/penal code, and require more government
workers, which would require more taxes to pay them etc. etc., so
I guess in some eyes, this would be a good thing. Sheese!
PS, I am not a gun owner - the mindsets are just interesting.

Nah, don't do that... coz if we find out it's not the phone then
that would ruin some people's crusades here... I mean, they're not
gonna get much attention if they have to change their approach to
"Let's bash anyone who's selfish enough to wear a charger while
flying !" ;-)

Yeah, and the political version would be: "Let's not confuse this issue with
a lot of pertinent facts." :-)
Seriously, I'm one of those people who likes to know. Some claim it's a
failing but at my advanced age it's not likely to change. I have no doubt what
Ton said is true, it's just that there are at least (3) variables there; the
phone, the charger and the interaction between the two. One or more of these
devices is causing interference and I'm curious as to which one. It's certainly
nothing particularly useful and won't be definitive in this argument but
curiosity would drive me to isolate the cause.
The cell phone problem is difficult to prove if it's not really a problem.
Like proving a negative, the best that could be done would be extensive testing
with no results found. Even this would not really be proof but rather low
probability.
