Hi Everyone,
I think I want to put silk on my new telemaster 40's wings. I've
practiced a bit with an old wing from another airplane and have made
some progress getting the silk on tight. An old buddy from high school
(very long time ago) used to cover all of his freeflight models' wings
with silk in some pretty colors. I always liked the looks, nice color,
still can see the beauty of the wing construction, etc.. I'm wondering,
can you use silk found at a fabric shop to cover wings? Is there
something special about the silk (white as far as I can find) offered to
us by venders?

Silk is still around and can be found in a few colors. I think its still
available from Sig. If you are looking for the cloth weave look i would say to
use a product also by Sig called Koverall. Its easy to use. It will shrink with
heat iron and can be painted any color you want. Its very tough also.I have it
on a Cub and looks very scale

use polyester and shrink with heat gun.
