The Brisbane Career Guidance and Vocational Testing Centre was established in 1989 to assist individuals in identifying new or alternative career paths. A vocational assessment can help find the career that best suits your skills and personality. Vocational assessments can also assist employers in determining the suitability of prospective employees or assess existing employees for promotion. Vocational and career guidance High School Course Selection, Tertiary and TAFE Course Selection, Career Counselling, Career Change Vocational Assessment consists of an interview, a battery of 12 tests which includes the assessment of verbal, quantitative and non verbal intellect, speed and accuracy, mechanical reasoning, visual spatial reasoning, spelling, vocabulary, language usage, critical thinking, vocational interests and personality. The assessment takes approximately five hours. Following this assessment a further one hour vocational counselling session will be scheduled with a specialist psychologist who has many years of experience in career guidance. During this counselling session the results of the tests are discussed and a comprehensive report with all the test results and career recommendations is provided to the client.
