"Break of Day" by Margaret Allen

A Malua Bay Resident, Margaret retired to the South Coast in 1999, after being a temporary resident for the previous 15 years. 

Margaret is a traditional artist and has won a number of awards. She studied at the ANU doing a course which covered life drawing, etching, lino cut and oils. After which she then furthered her studies doing a courses in oils and water colour. In 2001 Margaret discovered the beauty of pastels and since then most of her work features the pastel medium. Her works are predominantly the Australian Landscape, but she also loves to do a variety of subjects including still life and portraits.

Margaret is a member of the Batemans Bay Arts & Crafts Society, and the South Coast Pastel Society, both groups holding several exhibitions throughout the year. She has also exhibited in a number of galleries in ACT and NSW.
