Skating since childhood, Alma Davenport was a world class skater, representing the United States of America in World Competition. During her amateur career, she took proficiency tests, culminating in the Gold Medal Test, which is the highest level attainable in ice skating. Alma studied all three areas of figure skating, which are pair skating, solo free skating and ice dancing. She has three Gold Medal Tests in these areas, earned in the United States, in addition to numerous gold medals earned in competitions.
After competing for the U.S.A. Alma was a featured pair skater with the American Ice Show, Ice Follies and subsequently became a teaching professional, first in the U.S.A. for 19 years and since 1989, at Macquarie Ice Rink in Sydney.
