Training and Assessment (TAA40104)

Teach your passion in schools or TAFE Colleges. Required qualification
to teach in the Vocational Education Training (VET) Sector.
The new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification
is industry best practice. This accredited course offers participants
a hands-on opportunity to develop their attributes as trainers and
assessors.
We have divided the required material into 7 workshops.
- Workshop 1: Introduction to Vocational Education
- Workshop 2: Training delivery for a group
- Workshop 3: Learning design
- Workshop 4: Facilitate learning in your workplace
- Workshop 5: Plan and Assess competence
- Workshop 6: Assessment and Validation
Upgrades and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
available. Block courses, self-paced courses and flexible delivery
to suit your schedule.
Each workshop is 2 days and can stand alone. Assignments
and self-paced learning will supplement the face to face sessions.
This Certificate IV level course involves face-to-face integrated
delivery complemented by substantial self managed learning. Flexible
delivery schedules can be arranged and Recognition of Prior Learning
is available. Work-based projects can be completed over the following
36 weeks at the participant's discretion.
There are no entry requirements.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment requires
12 core units of competency and 2 electives. Upon completion of
all fourteen units of competency, the individual will be awarded
a national qualification -- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
TAA40104. A Statement of Attainment can be awarded for the successful
completion of individual units of competency.
If you are an experienced Vocational Education
Teacher/Assessor, you may wish to complete the Certificate IV TAA
with a combination of workshops, self-directed study and RPL. Please
enquire about our RPL or upgrade program.

- Portfolio of evidence required to substantiate
claims.
- CD Rom, Self-paced materials (Tool Box for TAA40104)
and templates will be provided to applicants wishing RPL for guidance
in providing evidence.
Writing materials and any training aids required for
teaching presentations, workplace to apply training and assessment.
Access to a teaching and learning environment is recommended for
completion of work skills and projects. Suitable work experience
environments can be confirmed upon enrolment.
This course requires effective language, communication,
and interpersonal skills. During the course we will cover teaching,
assessing, and keeping records. You will need the be able to
- Read and interpret Training Packages and government
documents
- Develop and write learning programs and lesson
plans
- Develop and document assessment plans and assessment
tools
- Present information in a classroom setting in front
of peers and colleagues
- Use the internet to research information. Type
assignments.
Proficiency in English should be a priority for this
qualification. Should difficulties arise, tutoring will be offered
to the student beyond the course hours for an additional fee for
service.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the currently
industry best practice for trainers and/or assessors. This qualification
is highly regarded by both private and government organizations.
Trainers who wish to pursue more specialist competencies
and / or a career path in training should consider completing the
Diploma of Training and Assessment (TAA50104). This is a national
qualification designed for individuals who may be responsible for
conducting competency needs analysis, establishing training systems,
developing assessment tools and procedures. The specialist units
of competency emphasize system level operation and management. Enquiries
