The structure of this course is based on the assumption
that front line management is not an entry level qualification and
that learners are likely to have existing training and qualifications.
The course provides information and activities that support self-directed
learning and assessment, therefore a high level of literacy and
comprehension will be required as well as significant work experience.
All assessment materials must be submitted typed, either in pdf
or Word format. Handwritten materials will not be accepted.
This course is designed to increase the professional’s
skills in areas pertinent to their employment and future employment
opportunities. A Statement of Attainment will be issued for each
unit completed.
This accredited training course follows the recommended
duration of 530 nominal hours.
Assessment will be based on 4 areas of competency.
- Theory questions: are designed to allow the candidate
to demonstrate underpinning knowledge.
- Portfolio of documentary evidence: a collection
of documents that the candidate produces in the course of everyday
work.
- Third party evidence reports: provides an overall
assessment from a supervisor or colleague who has already gained
competence in the area being assessed.
- Assessor interview summary: as part of the quality
assurance procedure, the Assessor will call the candidate to discuss
the assessment and ask questions specifically related to the evidence
submitted.
Each tool provides a different type of evidence which
alone is not sufficient to demonstrate competence, however together
provide a well-rounded picture of the candidate’s ability
to perform competently and confidently in the workplace to the level
set down in the National Business Services Competency Standards.
