About Us
The Academy of Career Training was established as
a Registered Training Organisation in 2001. We specialise
in courses in teaching, leadership, outdoor recreation, and business.
We believe that education opens the door to new jobs and new careers.
Here at the Academy of Career Training, we are dedicated to offerng
you the best education to increase your opportunities.
Academy Staff
The Academy Director, Kimberly Halter, has a Masters
in Education and 25 years of experience in developing programs to
meet specific client needs. She has worked with youth at risk
of offending, children with special needs, and developed programs
for children with challenging behaviours.
Kimberly has been involved in Outdoor Recreation since
1976 running camps and outdoor events for children, youth, and adults.
In 2001 Kimberly registered the Academy of Career Training and now
consults with other Outdoor Recreation organisations to assist them
to tailor their courses to meet the requirements of Vocational Education
Training.

Kimberly teaches courses in Assessment and Workplace
Training, Communication, Conflict Management, and Business.
Glen N. Halter, Business Manager for the Academy, he holds a Bachelors of Adult Vocational Education and Human Resource Development from Griffith University. Glen’s career includes developing leaders in the Outdoor Education field. He has been teaching and designing training since 1986 in the Outdoor Recreational Industry and has trained thousands of students and hundred of leaders and instructors in that field. Glen also has a keen business sense and is able to turn a business around from making a loss to making a profit. Glen has been a consultant to small business for 25 years.

Glen teaches courses for the Academy in Outdoor Leadership, Assessment and Workplace Training, and Business.
Debby Mayer is a floral designer with over 20 years
of experience in 4 different countries. Debby completed her training
in Floristry and Horticulture in Europe and owned a thriving florist
shop in downtown Sydney. Debby has participated in international
flower competitions in Europe and designed large scale designs for
Toowoomba's Carnival of Flowers. Debby’s enthusiasm for flower
arranging and her high expectations for her students is infectious.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Floristry and Horticulture
from former Yugoslavia

Debby teachers courses in Floral Design and Business
for the Academy.
Irene is the director of her own company Inzpire,
specialising in organisational learning and program design. Irene
has extensive experience in managing projects and developing programs
for government and non-government organisations, one of which won
the 2006 Consumer Advocacy Award and the Ministers’ Award
for Excellence in the Queensland Consumer Protection Awards.
In 2003 Irene was a finalist for the Department of
Communities Minister’s Award for Excellence for a self-paced
learning project. Irene has a teaching degree from Melbourne University
with further qualifications in project management.
