Heavenly Father,

Give me strength to live another day in your service;
Let me not lose faith in the goodness of other people;
Keep my heart open to the needy, in spite of ingratitude or meanness;
Help me to stay faithful and to live so honestly and fearlessly, that no outward failure can dishearten me;
Open wide the eyes of my soul that I may see good in all things;
Give me this day, some new vision of your truth and loving-kindness;
Inspire me with the Spirit of joy and gladness;
And give me the strength to support those who suffer.
I ask this in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
