26 September 2007- National Disability Day of Action Update
On Tuesday 25th September at 1pm there was a rally out the front of Parliament House to campaign
for a fair go for people who have a disability and their families. We are fighting for a CSTDA that
adequately meets the needs of the people who have a disability of Australia. It was well attended
by people who have a disability, their friends and family, and sent the message that the people of
Australia deserve better!
14 August 2007 - Online Disability Services Directory
Disability ACT and the Citizens Advice Bureau are continuing to develop a new online ACT Disability
Services Directory. The directory will be a fully searchable database that will provide easily
accessible information with regard to disability serivces in Canberra and its surrounding region.
Disability ACT and Citizens Advice Bureau are seeking information on local businesses who 'go that
extra mile' for people who have a disability to be part of the web-based resource.
The listing of accessible businesses will be free of charge and will assist people who have a
disability and their carers in finding disability friendly businesses in our local area. The web-based
resource is yet to go live.
For additional information or to contribute to the directory, please contact Kaye Dudderidge,
Citizens Advice Bureau on (02) 6257-1687,
